Tuesday morning, lightning struck a farm house owned by Frank Dye, located about three miles north of town on county road 62. The Alliance Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze, bringing with them many fire fighting units and over 20 volunteer firefighters. They battled the blaze half of the morning and deep into the afternoon.
