During the month of June 2022, twenty-three people were killed in traffic crashes
on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

These 23 fatalities occurred in 20 fatal crashes.

Ten of the twenty vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, six were using seatbelts, and four had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.

Fifteen of the fatalities were in rural locations (The Federal Highway Administration definition for urban is an area with a population of 5,000 or more).

There were four fatalities on the interstate, seven on other highways, and twelve on local roads.

Three of the fatalities were motorcyclists.

Three of the fatalities involved a train.

One of the fatalities was driving an ATV.

There were 29 fatalities in June of 2021.

Only 35 of the 106 vehicle occupants killed during 2022 were using seatbelts.
