4 to 1 Win over Bridgeport Gives Navy Team 14th Victory

Alliance hosted Bridgeport on Tuesday for a doubleheader. The Spartans took down the Bombers in game one 4 to 1. With the win, the Peltz Co now has a 14-15 and 1 record for the season. Single scores in frames two, three, five, and sixth were enough . The Navy squad has won 4 of their last 5 contests. Alliance pitching was strong thru out with starter Miguel Galvan going 3 and 1/3 innings and allowing 0 hits. Also taking the bump were Jackson Devlin and Teagan O’Gorman. The Spartans ended the game with 3 hits. Bridgeport also finished the ball game with 3 knocks.

Alliance was sharp on defense in the opener. A leadoff walk by the Bombers started the game but a double play turned by the Spartans ended the rally. Galvan then struck out the final batter to finish the inning. The guests were also stingy in the bottom of the first with the Peltz Co going down in order. Inning #2 was a good one for Galvan as the visitors went down 1-2-3. Alliance took the lead with one tally in the bottom of the inning. Fletcher Moseman walked and stole second. An RBI single by Carson Stull made the game a 1 to 0 battle.

Another double play by Alliance in the third kept the Bombers out of the scoring column. The Spartans increased their advantage in the bottom of the inning with one tally. Israel Garcia was hit by a pitch and advanced after a walk to O’Gorman. The Peltz Co’s third run came when Garcia swiped home. No runs were scored in the fourth and the ball game went to the fifth with Alliance up 2 to 0.

A Bomber walk, single, and fielders choice sliced the guests’ deficit stand at 2 to 1 in the top of inning 5. The Navy club answered back with a run of their own. Jayden Garcia began the action with a single then stole second and third. An RBI groundout by Israel Garcia gave the Spartans a 3 to 1 lead. The Peltz Co also got a knock by Tanner Salcido later in the frame but he was stranded on the bases. Two k’s by O’Gorman in the sixth helped Alliance maintain their 2 run lead. The Spartans went by 3 in the bottom of the inning with one more score. Stull reached on a Bridgeport error and was pinched run for by Kyler Hamel who stole 2 bases. Casyn Rodriguez was next and his RBI groundout made it a 4 to 1 game.

In the final inning, the Bombers went scoreless as O’Gorman got 2 more strikeouts. Final. Alliance 4 Bridgeport 1
