On Wednesday, the Alliance White club hosted B&C from Gering. The Spartans broke open a 1 to 1 contest with an 8 run final inning to down the guests 9 to 1 in a five inning matchup. With the victory, the Peltz Co has a 20-3-1 record for the season. The game was called due to the run rule. Alliance got a 4 inning, 2 hit performance from starting pitcher Teagan O’Gorman in getting the win. EJ Garcia hurled the final frame. At the plate, the White squad ended with 4 hits with Tanner Salcido leading the way with 2.
O’Gorman kept the Steel bats quiet in the first with a 1-2-3 frame. Alliance snatched a one run lead in the bottom of the inning. Jaxon Poss reached on a Gering error and moved into scoring position after a hit by Creighton Fritzler. Next up was Kegan Rodriguez whose fielder’s choice made it a 1 to 0 game. The visitors would tie the contest at 1 in the top of the second with a walk and 2 singles. Alliance failed to score in the home half.
Both teams then struggled in innings 3 and 4 with no runs scored. The Peltz Co got a fourth inning hit by Nason Thompson but no tallies. In the fifth, B&C Steel again failed to score. The Spartans would then put the game away with an 8 run spree. Jackson Smith began things when he reached after a miscue by the visitors. A double by Salcido was next and the bases became full after Garcia was hit by a Gering pitch. A passed ball and another error by B&C made the game a 4 to 1 matchup. Two more passed ball then increased the Spartans’ lead to 6 to 1. Thompson was next and his hit was misplayed by Gering for run #7 for the Peltz Co. The contest then ended with another passed ball and another knock by Salcido. Final. White team 9. B&C Steel 1
