A Cold Fall Day

I remember traveling seven miles to home on a cold Fall day, it had been drizzling for three days and the ice just built up on everything and that included my car and the highway.

I was pretty inexperienced to driving on solid ice and before I got a mile out of town the car had spun out of control picking up momentum. I slid down the ditch landing in a pasture. The car magically slid under two barb wire fence and the ice was so thick it did not touch the paint job at all.

I always thought it was a kind of small miracle. Do miracles happen in our plain simple everyday lives? I believe they do. Every little baby that is born is a miracle, every Christian who dies and their soul goes to Heaven, every time the devil and sin spin us around and tries to scratch deep into our lives and we come out unscathed is a miracle.

I believe God is constantly saving us from what could be very evil all the time. Our conditions are slippery and treacherous and our experience isn’t enough to handle us safely through.

Thanks be to God, He loves us dearly!
