A crash west of Melbeta claimed the life of a Bayard woman on Dec. 1.
Cody Thomas, Public Relations Director for the Nebraska State Patrol explained that at 10:15 p.m., troopers received a report of a two vehicle crash on Highway 92, west of Melbeta.
“The crash occurred when a Buick Park Avenue was traveling eastbound on Highway 92 and crossed the center line, striking a westbound Ford F-150. The driver of the Buick, Syrena Parks, 25, of Bayard, was transported by helicopter to Regional West Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased,” said Thomas.
Alexis Guardado, 23, of Douglas, Wyo., who was the driver of the Ford, was transported to Regional West Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. He was later released. The crash is still under investigation.
