A Police Department that is Determined to Never Stop Growing

The City of Alliance Police Department has been making some incredible changes to increase the safety within our community. In the past two years APD has received close to $1.5 million in grants, with the plan to apply for additional funding that supports their Strategic Plan. These various grants have provided countless beneficial tools for the APD which include defibrillators for each officer to carry as they are often the first on scene for medical calls; proving to be valuable as just a few weeks ago an officer was able to reestablish a heartbeat saving a life using their defibrillator. These grants have also helped supplement salaries of officers and their PARRI representative, saving the City of Alliance well over $100,000. Many of the grants received have significantly assisted in decreasing the crime rates as well as updating outdated systems.

APD, Grant Funding, Community Programs and Partnerships are all creating unity and needed change within our community! In the past 2 years the City of Alliance has gone from being listed as one of Nebraska’s worst cities to live in to being listed as one of the safest cities in Nebraska. https://www.roadsnacks.net/these-are-the-10-worst-places-to-live-in-nebraska/

APD’s advancement has been recognized in many ways including the International Association of Chiefs of Police Prestigious Leadership in Victim Services Award, a feature in Police Magazines as most innovative leaders, the Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Community Compassion Award and many more.

APD continues to amplify their transparency and encourage residents to attend various community meetings to voice their suggestions and concerns. And also welcome capable and compassionate people to apply to join the APD.
