Carol was born on November 24, 1941 in Alliance to Hershel and Lena (Fix Hesse) Scoggin. Born premature, her grandparents, Fred and Louise (Fix) Hesse nursed her to health for the first few years of her life. To survive past infancy with as many birth defects as she had been born with was a medical miracle in that time, but she never once was considered disabled with her spitfire, go-getter attitude and her stubborn nature. She attended the Alliance Public Schools for her early education and graduated from the Park School of Business in Denver, Colorado in July of 1961 with her business degree. She worked as the secretary for King County Juvenile Court in Seattle, Washington, where she lived for the majority of her lifetime. Attending the opera and symphony were some of her favorite things to do there. Her passion for world travel took her to 6 of the 7 continents. She enjoyed many river cruises in the 90s, traveling the Rhine in Germany among others. The highlight of her adventures was her visit to the Pitcairn Islands in the South Pacific, although she also visited many countries in South America as well as the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Although she was never married, she shared her love for adventure with her nephews and collected currency from all over the world.

Survivors include her two nephews, Chris and Charles Olsen and their families, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Olsen.
