Make Disciples of All People

In the last Chapter of Matthew Jesus told His disciples to go out in the world and make disciples of all people, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and lo I am with you until the end of the age.

The end of the age or the end of our age creeps up on us pretty fast, way faster than I had ever imagined. When I was growing up spent some time in the city park on the swing. Old people who walk by using a cane or crutch and I would tell myself, “I am never getting old.” Strange as it may seem I imagined that I had the power to stay young.

How little did I know. Also how little did I know about time flying by. I thought I was going to able to sit on that swing forever and be young. Well you can see my plan didn’t work so good. I realize I have way more days behind me than ahead of me, but that is the case for a lot of us. We are to grow old gracefully and maybe that can be a challenge especially if one is in poor health and no faith in the Triune God.

I am sure glad He is with us until the end, it would be quite depressing and quite full of terror to go ahead without Him. Thanks be to God who loves us dearly.
