∙ Installed conduit and a cabinet for the new Westco buildings north on Highway 385.

Airport:
∙ Tractor has been delivered to Alliance Tractor, waiting for them to complete their inspections and then it will be delivered to airport. Received radio and beacon bids to be installed on tractor.
∙ Advertisements are out for bid for the Seal Coat of Runway 12/30 & 8/26. Pre-Bid meeting scheduled for April 4, 2024.
∙ A lot of activity has been happening in preparation for the completion of the taxiway and apron rehab project. Multiple on-site meetings and inspections have taken place. A phone conference meeting occurred yesterday to review the final work with schedule. Weather permitting the project will start back up May 13th.
∙ Advertisements are out for RFQs for engineering planning firms for the Airport Layout Plan project. Potential firms must submit qualifications by April 10, 2024.

∙ Several rental events have been held including BSNF, Simplot, Box Butte Extension Office, family celebrations of life and birthday events.
∙ Tourists have been visiting more as the weather warms up. Spring school break saw a lot of families coming to the Museum!
∙ We are continuing to work on the exciting new display scheduled for opening to the public in May. One of the new display items that has been found is the original brass plaque from the Birdhouse Aviary that sat in Central Park. We are looking for any early photos if anyone has one that we could copy to use with this display.
∙ We have cataloged several unique new donations from local families. We appreciate local families sharing their history with the Museum and our visitors.
∙ The Newberry Gift shop is stocked for spring & Easter! Come check out the fun stuff for Easter baskets. New T-shirt colors and designs will be coming soon.
∙ Do you enjoy reading older history, news clippings and generally fun tidbits? We are still looking for volunteers that could help with sorting and filing in our Heritage Room. This slow-paced job has the added benefit of getting to read everything you find! You will be a hit at the next coffee Klatch with all of the new information you will know about early Alliance!
Parks:
∙ Picked up torn up sod and dirt in the parks from plowing snow.
∙ Dirt work continues at the 16th Street tennis courts in preparation for sod.
∙ Cleaned up the 9th Street tennis courts for matches this weekend.
∙ Cleaned up debris on the grass at City Hall.
∙ 1 funeral this week.
∙ Overseeded Bower ballfield.
∙ Placed bleachers at the 16th Street tennis courts for matches this weekend.
∙ Mowed the grass on the west side of Big Blue Bay and picked up clippings, replaced fence stays and reattached the fence to posts that had come loose on the west fence.
∙ Cleared dead branches, wood vine, and trash from the trees at 3rd Street underpass and trimmed the bushes.
Senior Center:
∙ A part time RSVP Assistant has been hired. Welcome aboard Destiny McIntyre!
∙ 27 volunteers assisted the public this week.
∙ We have an opening on the Senior Facility Advisory Board. Please look online for applications on the City of Alliance website or come to the Knight Museum and pick one up.
∙ Activities include: Movie Day on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at 12:30, Art Project Day the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 12:30 pm, Fun and Games every Thursday at 1:00 pm. Every Wednesday at 9:30 we have Crochet Time. In addition to movie days on Fridays, there is bunco at 12:30. Coffee and treats are served at 8:00 am on Fridays also.
∙ RSVP Volunteers were honored at the yearly Recognition Dinner at the Eagles Club on March 17th. St. Patrick’s Day provided an opportunity for fun and games and a delicious meal for a large gathering! Thanks to each and every person who volunteers!
Library:
∙ Luck of the Irish continues through the rest of March for one lucky patron to win a $300 gift certificate to the Tin Lizzy Gaming Resort in Deadwood! We have been busy planning an upcoming fundraiser featuring unique Mother’s Day gift items that will be up for auction. Watch for details! We are also planning some awesome grand prize options for the summer reading prizes this year that will be sponsored by the Alliance Public Library Foundation.
∙ Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn held two Story Time sessions featuring “Into the Jungle” with Annette Wood, began the search for Little Blue Peep, and hosted LEGO Club. Cynthia also did KCOW announcements, the Spring Wiggleworm feature for the website, organization of the Book Mobile and backpacks, cataloging of new items, inventory, and preparation for April programs.
∙ Technical Services Librarian Emily Nelson made the weekly Bookmobile deliveries, assisted patrons, and prepared books for the upcoming Book Club meetings. She also assisted with some craft projects for an upcoming fundraiser.
∙ Adult Services Librarian Nalani Stewart cataloged new materials, hosted the True Crime book club, and the book club at Highland Park Care Center. She also planned a new plant display for Spring and a new “Adventure is out there” movie display.
∙ Library Clerks Stephanie Hamilton and Pam Becker have been working hard assisting with programming supplies and processing new Spring materials.
HR:
