The Alliance Peltz Co senior baseball team fell to Buckley Monday night 2 to 1. Alliance could only manage 2 hits in the 7 inning contest. The Spartans got a strong five innings from Cody Gallas to keep the game close. Gallas went 5 innings on the mound, striking out 4 while giving up 3 hits.
The Peltz Co got off to a great start with a leadoff hit by Tony Escamilla to begin the match but 3 consecutive outs stranded the runner. Buckley wouldn’t score as well in their first appearance and the game went to the second with no scores. Alliance got on the board in the second. An error by the Bombers on a hit by Alliance’s Kegan Nelson began the brief rally. Creighton Fritzler followed with a single and Nelson eventually scored on an out by Roman Escamilla. No more runs were scored until the bottom of the fourth. Buckley got 2 runs, using a hit by batter, an Alliance error, and 2 singles. Heading to the fifth, the Peltz Co trailed 2 to 1.
The Spartans were denied any runs in the top of inning #5 and 2 strikeouts by Gallas kept the Bombers off the scoreboard. Alliance would go 1-2-3 in both their final attempts as Buckley went on for the 2 to 1 victory.
