Dobby’s Fall Festival Raises Enough for the Winter

The 2024 Dobby’s Fall Festival was deemed a success, raising enough funds to cover expenses through the winter.

Lori White, Dobby’s Frontier Town Board President, explained that this year’s festival saw an increased attendance, despite the cooler temperatures on the opening day.

“We had a great attendance,” said White. “We expected, probably, things would be down because of the Saturday weather with the cold and the wind, but actually, it was one of our better weekends. We have our utility bills paid for, for the winter, and we’ve got a nice start for the spring when we open back up again. Can’t ask for anything better than that.”

Dobby’s Frontier Town always welcomes volunteers and donations, White explained, noting that donations may be sent to 423 Hudson Ave in Alliance.

“We’re a 501c3, so they can get a tax write off form,” White said. “Volunteers, we’re always looking for in different fields. We need gardeners, people that want to work in the house, people that want to work on the buildings, contractors anything like that. There’s 27 buildings out there with a vast array of things that need done, so lots of different types of volunteers work out great.”

White expressed her gratitude to all of the volunteers and donors, and to those who visited, making the festival a success.

“As always, we’re grateful to the people of Alliance and the surrounding areas who support us,” said White. “Without them, we can’t keep it open.”
