BBGH Receives Governor’s Wellness Award

On September 19th Box Butte General Hospital (BBGH) was honored with the Governor’s Wellness Award along with three other businesses at the Panhandle Safety & Wellness Conference in Gering.

BBGH received the Harvester Award, which is an award for businesses “reaping the benefits of an advanced wellness program, a developed wellness culture, and demonstrate high-quality outcomes,” according to a news release from Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD).

Employees of BBGH are given resources to enhance five areas of wellbeing, including; financial, career, social, physical, and community. Challenges, events, and other activities are organized monthly to help promote employee wellbeing in one of these five areas.

While this is not a new initiative for BBGH, there has been a significant increase in participation in the wellbeing program. The individuals and committees that provide support and direction for BBGH’s wellbeing initiatives have also played a more active role in ensuring BBGH is the greatest place to not only receive care, but also to work.
