Police:

Fire:

 Participated in the Veterans Day parade.

 Monthly department meeting held.

 Chief attending the IAFC-VCOS Symposium in the Sun as part of the Nebraska Fire Service Leadership delegation.

Water/Sewer:

 28 Work Orders, 8 Locates

 Replaced tires on truck # 1404

 Flushed 3 hydrants in Homestead, Exercised 4 water main valves

 Met with Core & Main to troubleshoot water radios

 Water Samples and Chlorine Residuals

 2 Boiler Inspections

 Put pipe back in Elkhorn- repairs were necessary to get well back online

 1 water disconnect

 Sent an employee to a wastewater class in Chadron

 Cleaned in-town wells

 Read cycle 3 radios

 Built new injectors for Elkhorn

Streets:

 Set up and took down Barricades for the Veteran’s Day Parade

 Swept and cleaned drains

 8 Locates

 Graded 2nd Street & Sweetwater

 New snowblower attachment delivered Thursday, working on attachments to the loader  Attended Employee Benefits Fair

Transit:

 737 Riders

Landfill:

 178 Customers, 236 Tons

 New employee training on equipment

 Ran the Burn Box

 Routine maintenance on equipment

 Bailer repairs

Airport:

 Airline renewal was the main focus again this week. Participated in a meeting with representatives from Denver Air Connection. All bids from airlines must be submitted to Department of Transportation by Tuesday evening. Putting review committee together to work on a recommendation to council. The council recommendation then goes to Department of Transportation who have the final decision on airline service for Alliance.

 Worked with engineers on Request for Proposals for the new plow assembly. This is still in the review phase but hope to have it finalized in the next couple of weeks.

 Continue working on multiple upcoming leases for land and buildings. They are all in the review stage with the City Attorney.

 Worked with engineers on updating master list of the airport with new pavement code requirements which now include weight capacity.

 Maintenance staff switched the broom head for the snow blower head as snow could happen at any time. This process is a two person job and takes quite some time to accomplish. Routine service items are being worked on in preparation for winter.

 Maintenance continued to work on the main ARFF truck.

 Wildlife control maintained along with some repairs to taxiway lights.

RSVP & Senior Center:

 Attended several meetings regarding arrangements for future volunteer programs in the community.

 RSVP had ten volunteers in the community to help with activities in the community.  Hosted the regular activities including movie afternoon, coffee and treats on Friday, bunco, bingo and other card parties.

 The senior center would like to add a senior focused low impact exercise class to the regular activities list. If someone in the community has related experience and would be willing to help please contact the Angie at the Senior Center by calling 762-1293.

Library:

 We are ending week two of the Literary Basket auction, which means there will be only four days to bid next week! Bidding ends at 7PM on Thursday, November 21st during the APL Open House! This year’s event will begin at 5:30 pm with Charlie Mae Carnine sharing Christmas and Old Time music with her fiddle, then at 6PM the AHS Theater Class will be sharing their original interpretation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Things will wrap up with the Jason & Jen Hager Family sharing their original interpretation of the “Cratchit Family”, featuring Jack Hager as Tiny Tim! We are so thankful to all our performers and invite everyone to come out for a fun evening November 21st!

 Adult Services Librarian Nalani Stewart cataloged new materials, created flyers for new programs, and completed paperwork for the Humanities Nebraska Program. She also hosted the book club at Highland Park Care Center and Fiber Arts Club.

 Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn held Story Time featuring “Joyful J” and guest reader, Granny B. The search for Butterball continues until Thanksgiving. Cynthia also did outreach visits with Head Start classrooms featuring Veterans Day, made KCOW announcements, organized the Book Mobile, performed backpack maintenance , cataloged new items, and made final preparations for entertainment for the Literary Basket Open House.

 Technical Services Librarian Emily Nelson made weekly Book Mobile deliveries, assisted patrons on the computers, and helped with the Literary Basket Auction. She took the meeting minutes at the APL Board meeting and updated our social media pages and websites. She also was available to help patrons with Device Advice on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00pm.

 Library Clerks Pam Becker and Stephanie Hamilton have been keeping basket bidding on track and helping with programming and event preparations!

Museum:

 Hosted the Nebraska school land lease auction in the gallery

 Provided a presentation and tour for the Hight School Future Business Leaders of America group.

 The Museum Partners hosted their quarterly meeting

 Continued preparations for the annual Christmas Tree festival. The event starts November 30th and continues through December 7th. Please come in and see all the Christmas items available for bid during that time.

Parks:

 Worked on the assembly of the fountain Christmas lights.

 Worked on irrigation repairs to prepare for spring start up.

 Two funerals this week.

 Repaired the headache rack on the dump truck.

 Continued leaf pickup.

 Winterized the Central and Laing Lake restrooms.

 Repaired the Harper Vacuum.

Electric:

 Installed a transmission pole on south side of 10th street west of HWY 385 to prevent 34.5 line from “slapping” during adverse weather conditions

 Installed ‘jumpers” from new solar field line to existing pole at intersection of Country Club Road and HWY 385

 Work continues on three-phase line rebuild on CR 63 between Otoe and Nance

 Attended ACE and MEAN meetings in Kearney

 Repaired stockwell transformer bank south of Rock Road

Administration:

 Received proposals for the Public Safety Center, Tourism Services, and bids on securing the 1st Interstate Inn. We continue to advertise for Planning for the Electric System.

 Met with multiple department heads and council members

 Participated in secretary interviews

 Attended Employee Health Fair

 Attended BBDC Annual Meeting

 Work on FY26 Budget
