The Annual Achievement Celebration was held on Sunday, November 3rd at the Multipurpose Hall in Hemingford. The evening was full of games and activities and celebrating the successes of 4-H members and the appreciation of volunteers. The newly appointed council member was Jaci Haas and Krista Carter was elected for her second term. The Council recognized Briana Paris for her six years of service to the board.
Clover Kid members were recognized for their involvement in the program this year. These members were Collette Arneson, Braekli Bolek, Brextyn Bolek, Nash Brown, Amos Daugherty, April Dye, Slade Harris, Autumn Hartman, Wyatt Harwood, Terryn Heupel, Baylie Heusman, Evelyn Intermill, Grand Johnson, Rhett Kresl, Brayden Mracek, Deacon Payne, Dahliah Pfieffer, Brogan Seeley, Madelyn Seeley, Arthur Stienbrecher, and Catherine Wimmer.
Ten-year members were recognized for their achievements within the 4-H program. These members consisted of Ainslee Woltman, Talan Smith, Evan Smith, Kail Miles, Bethany Kresl, Ryleigh Mashburn, and Emma Hitchcock.
Volunteers were recognized for their years of service. Volunteering for one year of service were Kyle Coleman, Elise Archuleta, James Archuleta, Maggie Bates, Shelby Carr, Kim Heckman, and Alisha Intermill. The five-year volunteer was Jen Foster. The ten-year volunteers who were recognized were Josh Carr and De’Ette Walters. The fifteen-year volunteer that was recognized was Shelley Blow. The twenty-year volunteers were Valery Bell, Katie Carter, Jay Meyring, and Shauna Meyring. One twenty-year service award was presented to Sally Bryner.
This year two members completed their Achievement Applications. Ashley Carr was awarded a Wood Science pin and Ayla Foster was presented with a Rabbit pin. Both participants are able to turn in their applications to be selected to attend National 4-H Conference.
A Diamond Clover pin was presented to Ashley Carr. Diamond Clover is a program where members set goals each year and summarize how they met those goals. Ashley completed her Level 6, which completes the program with a Diamond Clover.
Little Critters 4-H Club was awarded a club of excellence award for its achievements for the year.
The 2024 Herdsmanship County Fair winners presented with their cash awards. In the Livestock Barn the beef winners were Emily Johnston, Gracia Votruba, and Bryndle Votruba. The Sheep exhibitor was Ruby Heckman and the Swine exhibitor was Cyndie Herian. The Goat exhibitor was Leah Krebs. Overall Herdsmanship winner was Tayten Haas. In the Small Animal Barn the rabbit exhibitor was James Lanier and the Poultry exhibitor was Emily Johnston. The overall small animal winner was Ayla Foster. Ashley Carr was presented with the Large Animal All Around winner for all the activities she completed as a part of her large animal project this year. Thank you to Sandhills State Bank for sponsoring this award.
Valery Bell was recognized as the Outstanding Volunteer. She has been volunteering with the program since she graduated from the program. She has been a huge part of the livestock committee most recently serving as the President.
The Friend of 4-H Award was presented to Table Top Meats. Table Top Meats are a huge part of the 4-H program. They ensure our livestock have a place to be slaughtered, help coach the Meats Judging Meat, and cater the Superintendent meal.
Heart of 4-H Award was generously presented to Melissa Mracek, for her dedication to the North Panhandle 4-H program.
The National Leadership Award was presented to Gavin Bell. Gavin is always willing to help out and he is such a good role model, that is evident by the amount of little girls following him around during fair.
This year the outstanding 4-H member award went to Tayten Haas. During County Fair, several parents said he was always scooping and cleaning all of the pig isles, without being asked. He was always willing to step in and help out.
A huge congratulations to all the 4-H members and volunteers for a successful 4-H year. Enrollment has opened up for the year. Youth between the ages of 5 and 18 who are interested in joining can visit 4honline.com to register for this upcoming year.
