Between January 7 and February 15, the Carnegie Arts Center will be hosting the exhibit “New Visions of Nature”, showcasing the work of local artist Robert Peltz.
Robert Peltz, known fondly as Bob by his art camp students and the wider panhandle community, is a prolific artist celebrated for his innovative approach to abstracted landscapes. The show is an invigorating interpretation of place and time, showcasing landscapes that combine tight control and structure with intense color, elements of cubism, and a hint of chaos. With a strong background in design, Bob masterfully deconstructs recognizable forms and foliage, reducing them to their most fundamental shapes and colors. Peltz’s work walks the line of places known (including areas in the panhandle) as well as places pulled out of the imagination. Bob’s unique vision and ability to transform ordinary scenes into compelling compositions make his art a captivating experience for all who encounter it.
The Carnegie will be hosting a closing reception for “New Visions of Nature” on Saturday, February 15, from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited to come enjoy an evening of art and refreshments.
