Nebraska Chamber of Commerce President Bryan Slone to Speak at WNCC Commencement

Western Nebraska Community College will celebrate the 93rd Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10.

Bryan Slone, a Gering native and president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry will deliver the commencement address. He has served as the president since May 2018. Previously, Slone spent more than three decades as an attorney and accountant. In the 1980s, he spent time in Washington D.C., where he was a legal advisor to the IRS and a staff member under former U.S. Representative Hal Daub an helped draft the 1986 federal tax law.

Slone holds a law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UNL.

The commencement ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Cougar Palace. WNCC will hold two additional ceremonies, starting with the Nurse Pinning on Friday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m. in Cougar Palace. The Adult Education graduation is set for 2 p.m., May 10, in the Judy Chaloupka Theater.
