Five innings of no hit ball powered the Alliance White team past Ogallala 8 to 0 on Monday. Spartan starting pitcher Kobe Storm allowed zero hits in 4 and 1/3 innings to lead the Peltz Co in getting their 18th victory on the season. Relief hurler Jaxon Poss then finished the no no by recording the last two outs with Ogallala not getting a hit. The contest was played in Alliance as the Spartans improved to 18 2-1 for the year. For the game, the Peltz Co ended with 4 hits.
Strom was strong in the first inning with the guests going down 1-2-3. On offense, Alliance tallied 3 runs to take control in the bottom of the first. Free passes to Creighton Fritzler, Braeden Clarke, and Tanner Salcido loaded the bags for Kegan Rodriguez who delivered an RBI single. Lexton Salcido was next and his run scoring hit made it a 2 to 0 contest. An error by the Adams Insurance Advisors finished the frame with the Spartans up 3 to 0.
Runs were tough to come across in the second with both teams going scoreless. Two k’s by Strom in the third helped the Peltz Co maintain their 3 run advantage. Alliance was able to push across 2 runs in the bottom of the frame. The Spartans loaded the bases and scored on a wild pitch and an RBI walk by EJ Garcia. Heading to the fourth, the Peltz Co led 5 to 0.
Ogallala again went down quickly in the fourth while the White club added to their margin with 3 more tallies. Doubles by Mikey Johnson and Tanner Salcido gave the Spartans a 6 run lead. The spree finished with Alliance scoring on a steal of home and a balk by the Advisor’s pitcher. In the fifth, the no no was finished with the Spartan pitchers recording 2 more strikeouts and allowing no runs. Final Alliance 8. Ogallala 0
