A very busy weekend started for the Alliance Prep team at home on Friday with a 12 to 0 victory over Gordon. The Spartans will play 2 more contests on both Saturday and Sunday. Alliance got a one hit effort from pitcher Quinn Ferguson in getting their 16th W on the year. Ferguson went the distance in the 3 frame matchup. Two Peltz Co players- Silas Linney-Stone and Esai Trejo- finished the game with 2 hits apiece. The Preps ended the contest with 9 knocks.
Ferguson started his gem with a scoreless first inning. On offense, Alliance scored 4 times in the home half. A single by Lilley-Stone began the rally. An error by Gordon plus a Trejo continued the threat. RBI groundouts then by Ferguson and Cooper Galles made it a 2 to 0 ball game. Cisco Cody then finished the spree with a 2 run single. After one inning of play, the Peltz Co was up 4 to 0.
In the second, Ferguson recorded a k in keeping Security First off the board. The Spartans got 2 more tallies thanks to hits by Trejo and Ferguson. Gordon was denied again in the top of the third. Six more scores by the Peltz Co in the home half ended the game. Alliance would get 5 hits in their final at bat. Knocks came from: Roy Torres, Lilley-Stone, Trejo, Dixon Bair, and Ryan Walker.
