Prep Team Gets a Walk off Win over Sidney 8 to 7

Two scores in their final at bat gave the Alliance Prep club a come from behind victory over Sidney on Saturday. The Spartans defeated the guests 8 to 7. Alliance enjoyed an early 6 to 3 lead before the visitors plated 2 runs in each of the fourth and fifth frames to surge ahead by 1. The Peltz Co big at bat in their comeback came from Esai Trejo whose hit by misplayed by Sidney leading to the Spartans winning run. Dixon Bair and Cisco Cody lead the offense for the Preps with 2 hits each. For the contest, Alliance finished with 7 knocks. Braden Myers pitched the first 3 innings and was relieved by Kylar Adams who tossed the final 2.

Sidney scored three times in the opening inning. The visitors used 2 walks, a single, a hit batter, an RBI groundout, and an error by the Spartans to take a 3 to 0 lead. Alliance would load the base paths in the bottom of the inning but failed to score. Myers had a scoreless frame in the second to keep Alliance in striking distance. The Peltz Co came to life in the home half with 3 tallies. Knocks by Cody, Silas Lilley-Stone, and Logan Freiberger knotted the contest at three all. A twin killing by the Navy team in the third helped the Spartans stay close. Three more Spartan runs in the third gave Alliance a 3 run cushion. The Peltz Co received hits from Bair, Cooper Galles, and Cody to go up by one. A pair of errors by Sidney then helped the Spartans go up 6 to 3.

Inning four saw Sidney plate 2. Alliance would get another Bair hit but no runs in their at bat in the bottom of the 4th. The guest’s comeback continued in the top of their final at bat. A pair of passed balls and an RBI groundout gave Sidney the lead at 7 to 6. Alliance’s rally started with a walk to Roy Torres and both Eban Lore and Freiberger reaching after being hit by pitches. With the bases full Trejo ended the game with a hard hit that caused an error by Sidney and allowed the Peltz Co to score the tying and winning scores. Final Alliance 8 Sidney 7
