Chadron paid a visit to Alliance on Saturday for a contest against the Prep club. The Spartans got 4 inning of no hit ball by starting pitcher Esai Trejo and defeated Post 12 5 to 2. Trejo had 7k’s for the contest. The Peltz Co ended the game with 4 hits in the four frame affair.
Trejo began his big game with a scoreless first while the Preps scored twice. Alliance got a 2 run double by Ryan Walker that put the hosts up 2 to 0. Chadron responded with a tally in the top of the second on 4 walks. Trejo would record 3 strikeouts in the inning. The Spartans were turned away in the home half of the frame. Heading to inning 3, the Peltz Co had a 2 to 1 lead.
Two more k’s by Trejo kept the guests off the scoreboard in the top of the third. Up 1, the Prep scored 3 to increase their advantage in the bottom of the inning. Hits by Quinn Ferguson, AJ Garcia, and Sonny Hernandez made it a 5 to 1 ball game. Trejo helped his cause in the frame with an RBI walk. The visitors scored one in the top of the 4th with a walk and a steal of home. The contest ended with Peltz Co failing to score in their last attempt. Final Alliance 5 Post 12 2
