On Tuesday, the Alliance seniors hit the road to Bridgeport for a pair of games with the Bombers. Nine first inning scores powered the Spartans to a 14 to 2 victory. With the W, the Peltz Co now has a 21 and 9 record on the season. Getting 3 hits each were Alliances Kegan Rodriguez and Cody Galles. The seniors finished the first of the twin bill with 13 total knocks. Three Spartans took the mound beginning with starter Lexton Salcido. Also tossing were EJ Garcia and Jaxson Esparza.
Eight hits in the top of the first propelled the Peltz Co to a big advantage. Early singles by Rodriguez, Espen Lanik, and Carver Nemnich loaded the bases. A 2 run error by the Bombers made it 2 to 0. Galles then doubled for run #3. Another misplay by the hosts was followed by a Mikey Johnson double as the rally continued. The Spartans fifth tally came when Braeden Clarke’s hit was mishandled by the hosts.
Tony Escamilla was next and his single made it a 6 to 0 game. The frame closed with RBI hits by Rodriguez and Galles. Down 9 to 0, Bridgeport tallied a run in the home half with a pair of hits but a double play tuned the Peltz Co ended the threat.
Spartan bats came alive again in the second with 5 more tallies. A single by Nason Thompson began things and he would score after a Clarke RBI groundout. The Peltz Co continued the hit parade with run scoring knocks by Rodriguez, Lanik, and Galles. Bridgeport failed to score in the bottom of the inning. Heading to the third, the Seniors enjoyed a 14 to 1 lead.
Alliance would get a third frame hit by Clarke but no scores. The hosts got a score in their last at bat with a walk and a double. Final Alliance 14. Bridgeport 2
