Starting pitcher Lexton Salcido went the distance in a 4 to 1 win by the Alliance White squad over Gering on Thursday. Salcido hurled all 7 innings and gave up just 5 hits in getting the win. With the victory, the Spartans have a 22-3-1 record of the season. A three run fifth frame by the Peltz Co erased a 1 to 0 lead by B&C. One more tally in the seventh lifted Alliance to the win. Tony Escamilla led the offense for the Spartans with 2 of the Peltz Co’s six knocks. The game was played in Gering.
Runs were tough to come across in the early moments. Alliance went scoreless in the first 2 innings while Gering got a run in the bottom of the second. The hosts used 2 hits and an Alliance error to take a 1 to 0 advantage. In the third, a single by Escamilla and a walk started an Alliance rally. Unfortunately both runners were left on the bases paths. Salcido put down B&C in order in the home half. No runs were again recorded in the fourth. Heading to the fifth, the Peltz Co was behind 1 to 0.
Three scores in the top of inning five gave the Spartans a nice margin. Alliance would have 4 hits in the frame to take the lead. Up next was Espen Lanik who doubled to continue the spree. Another RBI bunt by Kegan Rodriguez put the White team up by 1. The rally concluded with a run scoring hit by Carver Nemnich. In the bottom of the inning, Salcido would get a k as the hosts failed to score.

Alliance got a double by Escamilla, a sacrifice bunt by Lanik, and a sac fly by Rodriguez to go up by 3. Salcido finished his gem with 1-2-3 effort in Gering’s last attempt. Final. Peltz Co 4 B&C 1
