Busch Solves a Trash Problem at Laing Lake

When you think of Laing Lake you picture walking paths, kids fishing and community fun. What you don’t picture is the amount of trash found in and around the lake.

One such youth, Gabe Busch, has been focusing on the trash problem and decided to take action to solve it.

“I have a love for the environment and want to keep it clean,” Busch said. “Just knowing I’ve made a difference and that wildlife won’t get stuck in old fishing lines,” is what he likes about the Lake when it’s cleaned up.

In the span of two trips Busch states that he has removed four or five bags of trash.

It takes community involvement to help keep Laing Lake clean. Busch invites others to take an active role in cleaning up the community.

“Even if they don’t pick up other people’s trash, just keep their trash collected and throw it away after they’re done. Don’t leave it out there for other people,” said Busch about how the community can help.
