Man Arrested for Terroristic Threats in Minatare

At around 7:13 p.m. on Aug. 14 the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of 306 1st Ave in the City of Minatare to a report of a disturbance. The initial report was that a male was in the backyard of another and was possible armed with a firearm. Officers from the Gering Police Dept, the Nebraska State Patrol and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area. When on scene a Gering Police Officer observed the suspect running in the area of 3rd Ave and 3rd St. Visual was lost in the area of 1211 2nd St. A perimeter was immediately established around the area, and the suspect was later contacted after he walked out of the house located at 1211 2nd St.

Interviews were conducted with the victim and several witnesses that confirmed the suspect made threats to kill the victim and his family. The suspect ID as Thomas Gonzalez 56-year-old of Minatare was arrested for Terroristic Threats and Disturbing the Peace. No firearms were recovered.
