Library:
Fall is in the air, and with it comes our busiest season of programming. There were times this week the staff huddled to plan with each of us leaving excited though a bit overwhelmed as to how we will pull it all off! The team effort of this staff is amazing, and while our plans are extensive, we plan on fulfilling each one to make the library a source of community enjoyment. Watch for the great things to come!
Adult Services Librarian Stephanie Hamilton made visits to patrons at Highland Care Center and Assisted Living Center. She also hosted the APL August Book Club, changed out displays and worked on planning and promoting fall programming.
Technical Services Librarian Mason Trumble has been working on the many slides we are in need of for an upcoming program. He will also begin shelf reading of the non fiction section with Steph Hamilton.
Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn is excited to begin Story Time and LEGO Club soon! Adventure Book Club shared discussion of the Dragon Masters series by Tracey West, as well as working collaboratively on their own written and illustrated works. Cynthia shared KCOW announcements and gathered Book Mobile items. Her ongoing projects include cataloging, backpack maintenance plus updating the website and book displays.
I am especially proud of Library Clerks Pam Becker and Carolyn Hamel for their outstanding efforts on the Uber Reads contest for the library. The idea is to check out a “to-go” order, find a “foodie” book and recipe inside, then bring your receipt back to the desk to be entered into a drawing for $50 to Wonderful Kitchen! Thanks to the APL Foundation for the prize, and many thanks to these two gals for making it happen! Museum:
