Sidney Takes Three Against Alliance

Thursday’s road trip to Sidney was a tough one for the Alliance volleyball teams. Sidney won all three contests in straight sets. In the varsity contest, the Bulldogs had their chances but fell 28 to 26 25 to 18 and 26 to 24. The Raiders also won the reserve game 25 15 25 9 15 11 and the JV affair 25 18 25 23.

Behind 11 to 9 in the first set of the varsity game, an ace serve by Maslin Breen put the Dog deficit at 1. Breen then had an ace block later that put Alliance ahead 16 to 14. Another block, this one by Bulldog Alexis Libsack, put the guests up 19 to 16. The set closed with kills by Alliance’s Addison Weber and Kaiah Adams and the Red Raiders getting the win 28 to 26.

All Sidney in set #2. The hosts jumped to an early 7 to 2 lead and never looked back. Alliance would get to 12 to 7 but the set came to an end with a 25 to 18 W for the hosts. Momentum stayed the Raiders in the finale. Down by 6, a block by Adams closed the gap. The game would be tied at 19 and 21 before a kill by Olivia Krejci gave the Bulldogs a brief lead. After tally by Sidney, a kill by Ryli Poss made the score 23 to 22 in favor of the guests. The set came to an end with the Red Raiders scoring the final 2 points and winning 26 to 24.
