Bingham, Landreth Make Initial Court Appearances

Two people charged in connection with the homicide of an Alliance man made their first appearances in court last week.

Tamara Bingham and Matthew Landreth appeared in Sheridan County Court and Box Butte County Court, respectively, last Thursday. Bingham is charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony and improper disposal of human remains. Landreth is charged with accessory to a class 1 felony. The charges stem from the murder of a man who was recently reported missing from Alliance, Ebram Sifuentes.

The Nebraska State Patrol announced the arrest of Bingham and Landreth following the discovery of human remains in Box Butte County, making the announcement in a press release on September 12. Last Tuesday, the Nebraska State Patrol issued a press release stating they believe the human remains that were located were Sifuentes.

The Nebraska State Patrol sought help from the public to locate Sifuentes, who was last seen in Alliance on August 27 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The press release announcing Sifuentes as missing was issued on September 9, the same day Bingham filed for a protection order against Sifuentes in Box Butte County District Court. In the filing, Bingham wrote that she had talked to Sifuentes about no longer being happy in their relationship, saying that he allegedly pulled a gun from the gun safe and pointed it at her.

“I’m scared he’s going to kill me,” Bingham wrote in the filing.

The arrest affidavits in both Bingham’s and Landreth’s case have been sealed. Bingham is due to appear in court again on Oct. 2, and Landreth is set to appear in court on Sept. 30.
