Water/Sewer:

 30 locates and 10 work orders performed

 5 radios installed; 1 meter change out

 10,205 feet of sewer line jetted

 Performed routine water samples, chlorine residuals, and end of season samples

 Completed 2 disconnects for utility office

 Replaced “D” station seal filters

 Cleaned out Landfill pits

 Spread new gravel at Sewer Lake and around valves

 Washed Vactor Truck

 Used degreaser around Lift Stations

 Repaired water main break at 6th and Grand

 Replaced 2 drive shafts at Sewer Lake pivot

 Winterized Sewer Lake pivots and pump house

 Assisted line crew with boring project at 14th and Yellowstone Streets:

 Replaced faded and non-reflective signs in town

 30 locates performed

 Pulled and replaced signposts

 Relocated stop sign on 10th and Big Horn

 Cleaned drains

 Worked on sweeper

 Prepared equipment to begin crack sealing

 Received and stocked new signs

 Assisted Water Department with main break

 Removed cement for Electric Department

Landfill:

 253.26 tons of refuse collected; 217 customers assisted; 101 bales

 Ran burn box

 Continued baler training

 Continued equipment maintenance

Golf Course:

 Staff is in the process of constructing some new tees to lengthen the course for low handicap players. Working on the second one now, and work will continue as long as the weather allows.

 Final tournament will be hosted this Sunday; play is stead when the weather is nice.

 Completed normal maintenance and mowing on the course. Golfing conditions are good.

RSVP & Senior Center:

 RSVP had fifteen volunteers in the community assisting with community activities this week.

 Continued to provide dine in and delivery meals for area seniors

Museum:

 Staff attended the MPMA conference in Omaha this week. They were able to attend educational seminars and brought back great ideas for our museum.

 Hosted the Sandhillers writing group this week.

 Visitation continued to be up

Library:

 The library staff was saddened to see the resignation of our City Manager, Seth Sorensen. Seth has been great to the library and all our staff, which has been very much appreciated! We will miss you Seth! Thanks for all the support you have given the library and we all wish you and your family the very best on your next adventure!

 Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn’s story time featured Fire Safety with Alliance Fire Department. We always love their visits and spraying the water hose! LEGO Club worked on their cool creations. Cynthia shared outreach visits with three Head Start classrooms and three Marian Learning Center classrooms. The Halloween Reading Challenges continue as well as our Search for Gertie Ghost. Digital Detox Friday features Autumn Watercolor. Cynthia is also compiling Book Mobile items, cataloging, backpack maintenance and book displays. Her ongoing projects include program promotion with posters, flyers, press releases and website updates.

 Adult Services Librarian Stephanie Hamilton has been working on several projects of interest. Stephanie visited Highland Park Care assisted living center for book club. She is working on upcoming book club discussions for APL book clubs. She continues to move forward with the shelf reading project, with current efforts focusing on the regional collection. She also updated displays which included one for the library Halloween Bingo reading challenge that is going through the month of October.  Technical Service Librarian Mason Trumble has been busy creating promotion materials for all the upcoming programming! He is also working on a Digital Detox project for our Friday programs and keeps busy running the bookmobile deliveries.

 Library Clerks Pam Becker and Carolyn Hamel are busy now with new Christmas materials and maintaining records for all the contests. These two keep the circulation desk running smoothly and efficiently to make our patron’s visits top notch!

Parks:

 Continued winterizing irrigation systems in the parks.

 Winterized the pool bathhouse and pump house at Big Blue Bay.

 Met with Purplewave to take pictures of the auction vehicles.

 Mowed where needed.

 Filled in ruts on the Bower Park parkway.

 Weekly trash check in the parks and Wiggly Field.

 Repaired the pull type fertilizer spreader.

 Replaced the sump pump at the fountain.

Electric:

 Replaced transformers and primary wire on East 14th street

 Worked with Sandhills Energy on solar field voltage issues

 Installed wildlife protection at various locations in town

 Repaired/replaced streetlights

 Attended Council meeting and Leadership meeting

 Performed maintenance on overhead structures at several locations

Administration:

 City Council meeting held

 City Council is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy following Councilman Weisgerber’s resignation.

 Following the announcement of the City Manager’s resignation, the City is working to fill the role on both an interim and full-time basis

 Met with Bonds Advisor

 Met with BBDC Director; Attended BBDC monthly meeting

 Preparations for upcoming City Council Meeting

 Met with multiple department heads and council members; held Senior Staff Meeting
