Thanks to eight top four finishes, the Alliance girl’s wrestling squad placed second at the opening meet in Chadron on Thursday. The Bulldogs tallied 139.5 points which was good for the runner up trophy. Gering won the event with 167.5 points while Chadron was third. Seventeen teams took part. They were: Alliance, Bayard, Bridgeport, Douglas, Gering, Gordon/Rushville, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Kimball, Mitchell, Morrill, Scottsbluff, Sidney, Sioux County, South Platte, Valentine, and Chadron. Alliance had 2 champs. At 145, Aiva Raymer took first while Surenity Lewis grab the gold at 235. Finishing second at 170 was Charlize Dorenbach.
