Martha Quay, Quilts of Valor (QOV) Subcomittee Chairperson for the 2026 Chadron Festival of Quilts, announced a call for area quilters to assist in making blocks for Quilts of Valor.
Each year the Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF) designates an official block. The 2026 block is Echoes and the QOVF has provided a free pattern for this block on their website. All blocks should be 12 ½ inches unfinished. Area quilters are encouraged to go to the official website to obtain the pattern: quiltsofvalorfoundation.org.
Quay stated the blocks will be collected all three days at the Chadron Festival of Quilts being held at the Dawes County Fairgrounds Event Center April 24-26. “Your participation is welcomed and appreciated”, said Quay. Collected blocks will be used for quilts to be given to local veterans.
