May is poppy month for The American Legion Auxiliary Alliance Unit 7. Aleena Looser, a Junior member of Unit 7, shares a poppy with Tom Hoerler, a member of Post 7 American Legion. Poppies will be distributed at various locations and days during May in memory of or in honor of veterans of all ages and conflicts. Donations will be used for veteran programs of the Auxiliary – Gifts for Yanks Who Gave, Veteran Dollar Days, Gift Shops at VAMC facilities, Western Nebraska Veterans Home activities, Hot Springs Medical Center activities and other veteran-related programs.
