Seven athletes from the Alliance boy’s track squad competed in the state meet in Omaha on Wednesday and Thursday. Burke Stadium hosted the event. The Bulldogs came home with 5 medals. Leading the way was Trevor Zurn who placed seventh in the 800 with a personal best time of 1:55. Zurn was ninth in the mile. His time of 4:24 was also a personal best. The Bulldog 2 mile relay also brought home some hardware with an eighth place finish with a season’s best time of 8:02. They broke their own school record. Members of the relay were: Will Zurn, Devin Graham, Asher Saka, and Trevor Zurn . In the jumps, Tanner Salcido was 18th in the long jump and 24th in the triple. Alliance also competed in the mile relay and ended 16th. Running the 4 X 400 were: Jackson Shelmadine. Jackson Devlin, Graham, and Trevor Zurn.
Waverly won the Class B boy’s team trophy with 69 points. With 48 tallies, Lincoln Pius X was second and ending third with 37.5 points was Gothenburg.
