A very busy day for the Alliance Spuds on Saturday ended with a game against the Legacy Wild Dawgs. Fourteen scores in the top of the first powered the Spuds to a 19 to 2 win. Overall, Alliance went 2 and 1 on the day. Spud Jack Freiberger led the offense for Alliance with 3 of their 18 knocks including a first inning homer. On the bump, it was Freiberger who started and he was relieved by Nikki Escamilla.
Fifteen Spud hits in the first put the Wild Dawgs in big trouble. Tyce Johnson led off with a walk and later scored on a passed ball. Knocks by Grady Mracek and Luke Clarke set the stage for Freiberger whose bomb made it 4 to 0. The scoring continued with hits by Leo Hager, Ridge Toedtli, Jon Luke, and Landon Hickman as the Spuds added to their lead. Up 7 to 0, the hit parade went on with Alliance getting singles from Escamilla, Jensen Freiberger, Jack Sautter, Johnson, and Clarke. The scoring closed with the Spuds getting rbi knocks by Sautter and Hager. Two Jack Freiberger strikeouts in the bottom kept the shut out in tack. After one inning, Alliance was up 14 to 0.
Action slowed in the second as the Spuds went scoreless and Gering put one on the scoreboard. Inning #3 was another strong one for Alliance. The Spuds scores 5 times thanks to hits by Jensen Freiberger, Johnson, Sautter, and Toedtli. Gering would score one more in their last at bat.
