Fresh off winning the Conley tournament, the Alliance Seniors were back in action on Monday. Ogallala came to town to tangle with the Spartans. The Peltz Co continued their winning ways by downing the Adams Bank 8 to 0. Alliance got a combined one hitter from starter Nason Thompson and reliever Creighton Fritzler in recording the W. Thompson tossed three frame of no hit ball and had 4 strikeouts. At the plate, the Seniors closed with 9 hits.
Frame #1 had no scores from the guests while Alliance plated 2. Hits by Kegan Rodriguez and Thompson plus 2 errors by OG resulted in 2 tallies. The Peltz Co had another good inning in the second. Adams Bank went 1-2-3. Four more scores in the bottom of the inning gave the Spartans a 6 to 0 margin. Braeden Clarke tripled and scored on an RBI double by Mike Johnson. Up 3, the Seniors tallied three more on hits by Jaxon Poss, Rodriguez, and Thompson. After 2 innings of action, the Peltz Co was up 6 to 0.
Both squads failed to score in frames three and four. Alliance received a double by Clarke in the home half of the third but he was stranded. In the top of the fourth, Johnson from his catcher’s position picked off an Ogallala runner on the bases. The visitors went silently in the top of frame #5 while the Peltz Co ended the contest with 2 in the last of the inning. Thompson walked and Fritzler singled to start the scoring. An error by OG and a wild pitch finished off the Spartan’s victory 8 to 0.
