Tuesday’s late game was a Seniors game between the Peltz Co and Bridgeport. Alliance broke open a tie contest with 8 consecutive runs and defeated the Bombers 12 to 4. On offense, the Spartans were led by Espen Lanik who collected 3 hits and had 4 RBIs. Tony Escamilla also had three knocks as the Seniors ended with 12 hits total. Toeing the rubber was starter Kobe Strom. Also tossing were EJ Garcia and Tanner Salcido. Hurling the final three frames, Salcido ended the game with 5Ks.
BP scored one in the opener but their lead was brief. Alliance plated 2 in the home half. Knocks by Lanik. Nason Thompson, and Escamilla led to 2 tallies. Two strikeouts by Strom in the top of the second kept Post 29 off the board. The Peltz Co increased its advantage in the bottom of the second with 2 more scores. An RBI hit by Lanik made it 3 to 1. After an error by the guests, the Senior’s lead went to 4 to 1 after 2 innings of play.
Garcia would record three strikeouts in the top of frame three but the Bombers would knot the battle at 4 with 3 scores. Alliance responded with 4 in the last of the inning. Escamilla began the rally with a double. Another miscue by BP made it 5 to 4. Hits by Garcia and Kegan Rodriguez put the Peltz Co up by 3. Lanik closed the frame with a sacrifice fly. Alliance led 8 to 4 with action heading to the fourth.
The Bombers went scoreless in #4 while the Seniors push one across. Another hit by Escamilla led the way. He would score run 9 on a sac fly by Creighton Fritzler.
Both teams failed to score in the fifth. Salcido had 2 Ks and hit for the Spartans. In the sixth, Post 29 went quickly in their last at bat. Alliance ended the affair with 3 in the home half. Doubles by Fritzler and Lanik keyed the scoring. A single by Strom finished off the Bombers. Final Alliance 12
