Four teams remain in the Class B state Junior’s tournament on Tuesday. Alliance faced off with West Point in the night cap. The Bombers used big scoring frames in the first and third innings in defeating the Peltz Co 11 to 3. With the loss, the Spartans end their season with a 37 and 17 record. Alliance went 2 and 2 in the tourney which is being played in Wayne. West Point advanced to the championship game with a 4 and 0 mark. The Peltz Co finished with 4 hits on the evening with four different batters recording one knock each. Kyler Hamel started for the Juniors and went 2 plus frames. Also hurling were Carson Stull and Jackson Devlin.
Five tallies in the top of the first got the Bombers off to a fast start. Alliance answered back with a 2 spot in the home half. Jackson Shelmadine drew a walk and later crossed on an RBI knock by Creighton Fritzler. A groundout later in the frame made it 5 to 2 with one inning in the books. No runs were scored in the second.
Frame #3 was huge for the Bombers. West Point added to their advantage with 6 scores to move ahead 11 to 2. In the bottom of the 3rd, a hit by Tanner Salcido got the Peltz Co hope but he was left on the bags. Two Ks by Devlin in the top of the fourth kept the Bombers off the board. Braeden Clarke had a knock for the Juniors in the last of the fourth and was stranded on the bases. In the top of the fifth, catcher Salcido caught a Bomber trying to steal that gave the Spartans a chance. Alliance pushed one across in their last attempt in the home half.
