Alliance finished off the Douglas volleyball tournament on Saturday with battle with the Wolves of Moorcroft, Wyoming. Lead by strong play of Jadyn Aguallo and Brooke Bailey, the Lady Bulldogs outlasted the Wolves in three sets. Alliance won set one 25 to 18 then fell in set 2 19 to 25. AHS was able to take set 3 15 to 11 in picking up their second win of the year. Aguallo had 10 points while Bailey ended with 11 points and 6 kills.
Eight Aguallo points in the opener carried the offense for the Dogs. After an early tally by Aguallo, AHS got 5 straight from Bailey to surge ahead. Bailey ran off three straight aces during the spree. Alliance also got early kills by Bailey and Maslin Breen to grab the advantage. Later in the set, two kills by Bulldog Kaitlyn Shannon lead the O. AHS would trail in the action before 7 scores in a row by Agaullo put the Dogs up 21 to 15. Kills by Ryli Poss and Bailey keyed the run. Down the stretch, it was big plays by Poss and Shannon leading the Bulldogs to the first set victory 25 to 18.
Moorcroft broke open a close set #2 with a strong spurt midway thru the battle. Alliance would get early points and kills from Aguallo, Bailey, Poss, Bailey, and Shannon to stay in the hunt. A kill by Poss put the Dog deficit at 15 to 12. Points by Bailey and Poss then ensued as Alliance got within one. Four straight by the Wolves then followed. AHS eventually fell 25 to 19.
Bailey’s four points and 2 kills lifted AHS in the finale. Tied at 1, the Lady Bulldogs got a kill and 4 straight by the Senior to surge ahead by 6. Also standing out were kills and points by Poss and Krejci. Ahead by 5, Brinlee Lanik went to the line and tallied 2 as the Bulldog lead to went 7 at 11 to 4. AHS then closed out the set and match behind ace spikes by Breen and Krejci. The final of set three was Alliance 15 Moorcroft 11
