St. Agnes took on Cody Kilgore in the second game of the Hyannis Tri on Thursday. Alliance made quick work on the Cowgirls with a 25 8 25 8 W, garnering their first victory on the year. The Crusaders got 13 points from Allie Armstrong to lead the offense. Nala Reza added 9 points as the Academy improved to 1 and 1 for the season. St. Agnes dropped the opener in three sets to the hosts.
Early points and kills by Quinn Robertson, Kale Hulquist, Avery Breen, and Armstrong helped SA take a big early lead at 8 to 1. After a kill by Hulquist, Armstrong went to the line and scored 7 in a row as Alliance went up 17 to 3. The set came to a conclusion with the Academy getting a kill and 6 straight by Reza. Final ALL 25 CK 8.
Six more points by Armstrong in set 2 lifted the Academy. Breen had three consecutive points later in the set that put the Cody deficit at 5 to 1. Points by Robertson and Willow Hampton also keyed the spree. Following 2 Hampton points, Armstrong ran off 6 in a row as the Alliance margin went to 11 at 15 to 4. Sidda Wilcox then scored three that made the board read Alliance 19 Cody Kilgore 5. The Academy seal the deal with points in the final moments from Reza and Robertson. Set 2 went to the Crusaders
