Get to Know: Officer Seth McLaughlin #108

I was born in Bitburg, Germany in a military family. After moving around for several years, we migrated back to Alliance where I attended school from Kindergarten to my Senior year of High School. During school, I participated in Football, Baseball, Soccer, and Track.

After graduating, I enlisted in the Army for a little over four years as an Infantryman. During my enlistment, I was stationed in Vilseck, Germany for two years, deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 2/2 Cavalry Regiment, then was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas with the 1st Infantry Division.

After leaving the military in 2016, I attended college in Lincoln, Nebraska. On a whim, I decided to move to the east coast of Florida to continue my education. I achieved an associate degree at the Florida State College of Jacksonville. I then transferred to the University of North Florida to begin on a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with an emphasis on Community Relations. A semester before completion, I found that the Alliance Police Department was hiring. I applied and was hired, starting in June of 2019.
