Vaccine Distribution Progresses

The distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine is on a steady pace as 28.8 percent of Panhandle residents have received the vaccine.

As of Monday, there were 18,876 Panhandle citizens who have received the vaccine so far. Officials with COVID-19 Unified Command are encouraging people to register to receive the vaccine at https://vaccinate.ne.gov or by calling 833-998-2275.

“People will likely be surprised how quickly they are being scheduled to get their COVID vaccine now,” said Panhandle Public Health District Director Kim Engel in a press release. “Communities are moving to persons aged 30 and older if they are not already at that point.”

As of Monday, there have been 52 more cases of COVID-19 since they last reported on March 15.
