An unattended death is under investigation in Dawes County after officials were called to an apartment in Chadron in which 27-year-old Dylan Shoemaker was found unresponsive.
According to a press release by Dawes County Attorney Vance Haug, the preliminary investigation does not indicate foul play, though the cause of his death remains under investigation. Haug noted that an autopsy and toxicological screening has been ordered in Scottsbluff, and more details will be released when they are available.
“Anyone who has information about Mr. Shoemaker’s death or about his activity within the days leading up to his death is urged to contact the Chadron Police Department at (308)432-0510,” said Haug.
