Summer Reading Planned at APL

Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn has been working on planning the 2021 Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is “Tails and Tails,” which will be all about animals! She has already scheduled magician Jeff Quinn to come June 4, and the Riverside Discovery Center on June 16. Both programs are sponsored by the Alliance Public Library Foundation. Weekly prizes for our readers will be sponsored by many Alliance area businesses. Without their support, the program would not be a success. Please remember this when choosing to shop local as dollars spent here come back to the community in so many wonderful ways. In an effort to streamline the registration process, this year we will have a brief PowerPoint presentation for parents/guardians to view, making the process easier, quicker, and more efficient.

Adult Services Librarian Emily Nelson is planning several contests for the adults that will engage readers by offering some great prizes! Again, the Alliance Public Library Foundation will sponsor the prizes that will include Chamber Bucks for use at our local businesses! Be sure to watch for more details about this year’s program! We are ready to have a fun-filled summer at the library!
