George Donald Krejci Obituary

George Donald Krejci, 85, died Monday, May 17, 2021 at his home.

George was born July 9, 1935 in Alliance, Nebraska to Edward J. and Ludmila (Fitz) Krejci.

He graduated from Alliance High School in 1952 at the age of 16.  After graduation he began his lifetime career in farming.  On September 11, 1955 he married Belva B. Berry at the First Presbyterian Church in Alliance.

George had a great love for animals, farming and especially antique tractors.  When he wasn’t farming, you could find him in his shop restoring antique tractors.

George was a 49-year member of the Hemingford Rural Fire Board.  He was an active supporter of 4-H, FFA, the First Presbyterian Church and the Highway 20 Tractor Club.  He served on numerous boards and enjoyed visiting with anyone he came into contact with.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Belva Krejci of Alliance; his children, Dwight (Jerei) Krejci of Wheatland, WY, Lavon (Bart) Bierman of Isabel, SD, and Sondra (Jay) Vooge of Gering; his grandchildren, Levi (Leanne) Crowe, Tanner Krejci, Brenden (Chantri) Krejci, Natalie (Shawn) Hayes and Caleb Vooge; and his great-grandchildren, Kacen and Brynlee Krejci and Cooper Crowe.  He is also survived by his sister, Marie Joska of Kimball; his sister-in-law, Twila (Jed) Lockaby of Newton, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward (Dellamae) Krejci, brothers-in-law, Joseph Joska, Donald Sulzbach, Kenneth Berry, Roy Berry, Charles Berry and Dale Berry; and sisters-in-law, Thelma Jones and Leona Marsh.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.  Pastor Bob Gump will officiate.  Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department or to Regional West Hospice.
