Reflections Acceptance

Acceptance, does that come easy or hard for you? Many things in life are not easy to accept but the experts say we are better off when we can accept things. When I was young I had a lot of anxiety, it was hard for me to accept, everybody I knew seemed to have a good handle on things but I was anxious and did not accept that until years later. Do you accept your height and weight? Do you accept the things you can do and the things you can’t do? I was told that the people who enter a long term care facility did better that accepted that versus the ones that didn’t accept it. I don’t think there are any answers for many of life’s problems apart from taking them to God. We may accept or not accept some of our daily problems but I think when it comes to our spiritual lives we have a hard time accepting what God says about us in the Bible. I don’t think we accept the fact that we are weak and evil and born in sin. It might be hard for us to accept the fact that we were born to be dependent on Him. Many blessings come upon us when God gives us the grace to accept our role in life. In fact life really starts when one realizes that one needs a Savior. God loves all people even the proud but grace is poured out on the weak, needy sinful people in this world that know that they need God and the Bible says, “Apart from you we are nothing.” I know God wants to help you and He will make you something special. All because He loves you and I weak and needy people.
