When I first retired I wondered if I would get bored in the winter months, now days I find them more enjoyable. My to do list is much smaller in the winter and I can relax and enjoy the afternoons A human being can sure change over their life span. There is one thing about God, the Bible says, “He never changes. He is the same as He always was.” That is good news for us. If a friend betrays us we might lose our friendship. God always loves us, it is kind of hard for us to believe that but that is what God does. He doesn’t love us more when we bake pies for the homeless and doesn’t love us less when we blow it. It is good that God doesn’t love us for our goodness but He loves us for our neediness. Sometimes He allows us to go through a valley of sorrow so that He can pull us out and have us believe it more that He cares about us. It probably is in our DNA to do things and take charge but God says, “Lean not on you own understanding.” We probably fail that test daily but God says, “Keep going, rest in Me.” If we are going to find peace in this life that is the source of it right there. All because He loves us!
