The track season began last week for the Alliance St. Agnes teams with meets in Chadron and Bayard. On Saturday, April 9 the Crusaders traveled to Chadron then went to Bayard on Monday, April 11, Alliance competed in Bayard. Top finishers in Chadron were Asher Saka who took home first in the 400 and 800, Alexis Libsack who won first in the triple jump, Caysen Robertson was the champ in the 100 hurdles, and Mason Hamilton who won the high jump. Saka was also the top performer in Bayard with a second place finish in the mile run.

Coach Mark Glesinger said, “Pretty good start to the season. The weather at both meets was great times and awful at times. We had 20 out of our 32 members bring home ribbons at Chadron which was good to see. The competition was very tough, competing with the big schools like Bluffs, Gering, and AMS but we held our own. At Bayard, schools like Sidney, Ogallala, and Mitchell always field solid teams so were really had our hands full. The team did some good things and we are looking forward to our next meets.”
It will be another busy week for the Crusaders. On Tuesday, April 19, St Agnes will be at home for a quad meet, Then they will travel to Kimball on Thursday and finish the week at home on Saturday.
