A Great Miracle

There is a vitamin supplement commercial on television that says, “Our bodies are amazing chemical labs.” Even though I flunked every Science class I ever took I sure believe that. I think if we could somehow see play by play action every time this vitamin and this mineral hits our organs, nerves, and muscles, we would be knocked off our chairs. We would probably be amazed also every time something not good for our bodies, what it does to our inner chemical labs. Only God could make a body such as we have.

There is even a greater miracle that happens in our hearts, minds, and souls. How God changes us through confessed sins, acknowledgement of sin, we probably could not define it so well or understand the miracle so well, but Christians experience those things in their inner labs. How God changes cold hearts and attitudes, how He changes hate into love, how He changes resentments into forgiveness, He changes fear into hope, plumb miracles.

Science is good for us and we need it, but even Science cannot explain the transformation that goes on in a Christian life, nor should they be able to. Thanks be to God, we are loved, forgiven, and Amazing Grace is experienced into our lowly lives.
