I heard a most wonderful sermon recently. The topic was Jesus at the Wedding. Most people know that Jesus turned the water into wine during that wedding celebration.
The preacher said it was shameful for the host to run out of wine during this time and kind of hard to live down. The preacher stated that it really wasn’t Jesus’s responsibility to see that there was enough wine there and Jesus didn’t really have any obligation to do so, He was just a guest there, but really wanted to help the host out and take away the shame and have the people have a joyful time.
The preacher went on to say, “Isn’t it interesting that Jesus uses water to take away the shame of failure in our lives through Baptism.” He also said, “Isn’t it interesting that He turned the water into wine to provide for us at His Communion Table.” He also said, “Isn’t it interesting that Jesus has made our sin His problem and done something about it.”
What a gracious loving Savior that we have the opportunity to know, I wouldn’t want to go through life without Him. He does all this because He loves you and I sinners. May God bless your day!
