The Alliance High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) has been diligently working over the last few months! Our chapter has held monthly meetings to discuss our chapter’s program of work, ensuring that all members are informed and engaged. We also have had many work nights designated to preparing for our upcoming tests and projects.

Our chapter held its Annual Business Tour on November 13th. Fifteen of our members toured five local businesses: Sandhills Night Museum, Perrin Manufacturing, Alliance Movie Theatre, Nutrien Ag Solutions, and Edward Jones Investments. We would like to thank all of these businesses for taking time out of their busy schedules to host our chapter and provide us with valuable information. A special thank you to Becci Thomas, Jake Palmer, Edison and Courtney Red Nest, Cale Andersen, and Rich Otto for leading the tours at their businesses. Our chapter learned a lot and has continued to discuss what we learned from each business.

Another chapter event that we celebrated in November was American Enterprise Day. American Enterprise Day is celebrated by FBLA members every year on November 15th. The day symbolizes the freedoms granted to American citizens under the free enterprise system. To celebrate, Alliance FBLA hosted a booth at The Alliance Recreation Center’s Family Fun Night. We provided printable money that children could decorate using their own creativity, along with craft supplies to create business storefronts. This activity was designed to encourage them to think about future businesses and the potential for anyone to become an entrepreneur. It was a fantastic STEAM activity that highlighted the artistic skills essential for entrepreneurial success.

Our next chapter activity is our Annual Christmas Cookie Bake Sale on December 6th during the basketball games at Alliance High School! Be sure to stop by and grab some desserts to support our chapter before settling into the bleachers to cheer on our Alliance Bulldogs! We are just getting started and are looking forward to what is next! From the Alliance FBLA Chapter, we wish you a Happy Holiday Season!
